Delaini Gillett

Hello my name is Delaini Gillett and I am one of the grade 5 English teachers!

I have a diverse background working with students of all ages, with a specialty in middle school students, as well as being a dedicated employee and volunteer for the Town of Sylvan Lake for the last five years, from which you may recognize me.  With a dedication to lifelong learning, I am committed to helping my students become successful in ways they learn best and discovering ways I can continue to develop my knowledge and skills to create a safe, comfortable, and quality learning environment. Indigenous education, inclusion and differentiation are areas that I have found passion and continue to learn about. My degree and experience has provided me with excellent training focusing on trauma informed teaching, mental health aspects, child and youth brain development, and working within a collaborative classroom setting.

In my free time you can find me outdoors camping, golfing, snowboarding, and spending time with my friends and family. I look forwards to spending time with all of my students and my inbox and door is always open to stop by if you have questions, comments or concerns.
